For a while, I thought even if Romney won, the nation could survive, perhaps even prosper, like it did under Reagan and Bush I. But the more I see of this guy, the more I see he will do or say anything to get the nomination. There comes a point when practical political reality merges imperceptibly into total hypocrisy.

All politicians do this to a certain extent, after all, you can't save the world until after you win the election, right? He seems to be a fair administrator, and that's always a plus.

But not even John McCain sold out to the fundowackos like this guy has, he's absolutely shameless. It's a good thing he's a Mormon, too, so he's been trying to avoid religion as a talking point because it might backfire with his constituency. If he had just been some nominal religionist we would be swamped by the Jesus jive by now.

The country can survive a conservative, it has before, but I don't think it can survive this guy. Even the fundowackos themselves can see this, but they will vote for him in the end, which tells you all you need to know about them.
