Re: Interesting.
A lot of us aren’t that stupid....What bugs me is that the Republican Establishment went right along with it.
I just think you answered your own question.
So you have actually convinced yourself the Democrats started a rumor that they were afraid of Romney, to disguise the fact that they were REALLY afraid of a generic conservative, just so that the GOP would nominate a Romney they can’t stand instead of one of the true conservatives they prefer? Do you have any idea how utterly absurd that sounds? Listen to yourself, man. You're becoming a caricature of yourself.
I consider myself a pretty smart liberal, and I don’t think I could ever have conceived of such an intricate plan, much less how to go about pulling it off. I think you are giving the Democrats more credit than they deserve. I don’t think the left is clever or organized enough to come up with a plot that diabolical, that’s real Wile E. Coyote material; although I do agree that enough conservatives are deluded and desperate enough to fall for it.
Tom, you’re an intelligent man. For you to feel it necessary to resort to that kind of pretzel logic to premptively explain a defeat that hasn’t happened, and that may not even happen, tells me you’re really losing your grip over this. You don’t need to be a statist or a socialist to see how laughable and pathetic it is. Its the most grotesque and paranoid fantasy I’ve seen you come up with yet.
So tell me, who are we lefties really afraid of? The cream of the crop of American conservatism: Bachmann, Cain, Gingrich, Palin, Paul, Perry, Santorum, Trump? Well, to tell you the truth, I’m pretty scared of that whole crowd, but as President not as Candidate. But I’m even more terrified of a political movement that would seriously consider even for a moment any one of those drooling bimbos and dildoes.
Trust me, Tom. Even if I secretly believed you, even if I were a ringleader masterminding such a ridiculous conspiracy, I would have nothing to gain by trying to dissuade you about it now. After all, neither you, I, or anyone reading this has any chance of swaying this election one way or the other.
