Re: Hal and AI

HAL was only instructed to speak and react by his designers instruction his memory and actions comes from human programming and thought. His malfunction was the result of faulty human intuition. They blew it because they didn't inject fail-safes. A machine only does what it's told to do.

Many look at HAL and AI as a possibility in the future, but it's not going to happen. There is no way to program original thought and emotion into a chip. It would take an infinite amount of code and the power of the universe to make it happen. Algorithums thrive on energy and to power a computer source to match the human brain would take the energy capable of breaking through to another dimension or going c.

No machine will ever match the human brain.
