I am sure you meant this to be at CE but in any case the problems have no obvious solution.

If oil resources were not involved things would be different. The west will continue to react in ways that suit our interests. If that is bad news for Israel, too bad. If it is bad for Islam, the Saudi principality etc. also too bad. Remember there is no real difference in the position of Europe and the U.S. The only difference is in the way each side expresses itself.

There is no right or wrong in the world macrocosm, only self interest and survival. The best you can hope for is that some honor and compassion fit into the puzzle at some level.
