To paraphrase JFK. NASA should endeavor, before this decade is out, to take a picture of an extra solar planet, and return it safely to the Earth. As Phil said, this is the kind of work that NASA should focus on. The imaging of a Earth-like planet orbiting another star would be one of the greatest achievements in the history of Man.
