Jeeze, you got me there for a second!

Unfortunately, low cost (relatively) Kepler can't image anything, it can just detect the existance of those planets briefly occulting their parent stars, and only those planets in the same plane as our orbit. By looking at millions of stars, statistically Kepler will detect beau coup planets over a period of years. What we will learn is the statistical probability distribution of what sized planets in what period orbits around what spectral type stars. We'll learn much about solar systems and planets. Right now we've barely got a clue.
