My point was not that Kepler isn't worth it, au contraire'.
I personally would re-name TPF and fly it anyway. I like astronomy & pure science.
But I am not congress or the scientific establishment. I do not have $2B.
Unless Kepler or some other study 1st proves that Terrestrial planets are common, TPF will not get $2B and will not fly.
