How did MirCorp lose any money on the tourist flight?

According to reports, Tito paid $20 million for his flight. The whole mission cost about that much (Soyuz missions are incredibly cheap as manned launches go). The mission was going to be flown anyway to swap out the old Soyuz lifeboat at the ISS which was approaching the end of its 6 month on orbit life.

Basically, Tito paid to sit in a seat that otherwise would've been empty and paid about the entire cost of the mission for the priviledge. Under those circumstances, I don't see how MirCorp lost anything on the mission.
