Unless you have some idea that someone is going to be at the other end to receive your message, why bother?
Turn the situation around - suppose we wanted to beam a transmission in an attempt to communicate with a civilization in another solar system (this has been attempted). Which stars would you target for transmission? Where would you aim the signal? You can't just aim where the star is now but where it going to be in the x years it takes for the signal to arrive? What form would the signal take (modulation and encoding techniques) and what frequencies would you use? How long will you continue the broadcast?
Unless you've detected some signal from that star system that gives an idea that a technologically advanced civilization exists there, any attempt at deliberate beamed transmission - in either direction - is literally just a shot in the dark with a low probability of detection.

A beamed transmission implies a deliberate attempt to communicate
