Why you won't get manned Mars money now, or ever

you wrote: A SHORT LIST OF KNOWN AND SUSPECTED HISTORICAL IMPACTS AS OF FEBRUARY, 2002

All capitals, but it was a title so I'll avoid automatically classifying you as a net crank.

Your list is impressive, and remarkable. Not as a record of impact events, but of the ingenuity of a determined mind following a preset agenda.

Most archaeologists and historians would view that list of the repeated crash of civilisations across the world as a testament to the vagaries of climate, economics, and sociopolitics.

You choose to interpret *everything* as impact-related, even when no evidence exists.

Your support, in most cases, consists of ill-documented reports of unusual rain, or heavy hail, or portents in the sky, sometime in the same decade, or century as the "event".

If your interpretation were correct, we should be living in fear of the skies, and would hold a strong race-memory of impact events.

Instead, we live in fear of climatic change and sociopolitics which still have the power to depopulate whole cities and locally set civilisation back significantly.

Against THIS background, the few small impact events are as important as the small change in your pocket vs the Enron collapse.

EP, you are either a sensationalist scaremonger, or worse, you actually beleive what you say, in which case you are sadly deluded.

Either way, viewed objectively your extreme statements are so unsupported by fact as to equate to lies.
