Check the links given above and review the disasters killing thousands to tens of thousands in the last decade. In particular, check out Clark Chapman's congressional testimony which was once recommended to me by EP. There are plenty of more likely causes for the disasters EP claims are potential impact events. Most if not all of EP's list probably are possible impact events. What is misleading is to claim that these are evidence the impact rate is much higher than determined from crater counts and NEO statistics. Combining that data with the frequency of other disasters makes it clear most of the potential impact events EP lists are most likely due to other causes.
