Re: Juju's spots merging

It's indeed possible (in the winter) to see a full Jupiter rotation in one evening. The red spot is the best way to notice the rotation but, unless the eyepiece is very small, it 's quite hard to distinguish the spot from the rest of the surface as the contrast is not very big. But it's easier to see evolution in the respective positions of the moons. It takes a couiple of hours instead of 10. And the longest I've spent watching outside is 3 hours. There are many other things to observe during that time too. I've observed Io's shadow cross the surface (easier to spot a black spot than a red one).
