Would it be difficult to polish a 1-meter mirror for a telescope? I know that professionals use a really highly polished mirror, but do you really need to polish it so much to get better results than, say, a 10-inch mirror?
Basically I am asking, can you get a better image using a large mirror with a relatively poor polish, versus a small mirror with a high polish?
