Well, I know several guys who are polishing a mirror.
However, it can take a really really really really long time!
And I'm too impatient to see those stars up there, rather than the bench in the cellar! I've even wondered if those who polish mirrors really are interested in what there's to see. Dany Cardoen polishes 1m diameter mirrors. I'd say the 1m mirror would look like a Dobson. It isn't necessarily the width that matters.
