Get Real
I'm no big fan of Tumlinson. He seems to lack any common or engineering sense when it comes to choosing paths with sustainable and realistic economics, but the basic idea that space commercialization will be a boon to overall space exploration is sound. It is just plain silly to get all upset because someone can buy access to space. The more people that can do this the more capitalistic forces and will come into play and drive the cost of space access down for everyone. Automobiles were once the toys of the rich too. It's basic economics, the more money you make the more you can invest in research and development and the faster the technology advances.
