Last I heard, NASA was working with Brookhaven on this technique.
Still, no surface plants and agriculture possible on Mars - but now with the water, the possibility of back contamination grows -
Stars in my eyes did suggest the use of light pipes, but still...
by the way, before anyone gets antsi, those radiation rates hold for the Moon as well -
