Re: What happened to the laser fusion facility?
Lawrence Livermore's National Ignition Facility is still in construction. Friends of mine in DoE assure me it is overbudget and behind schedule and sucking the life out of most other LLNL projects. I believe the comletion date is supposed to be 2006 but I'll believe that when I see it. Just remember, the NIF is unlikely to lead to a power-producing reactor.
