I found out today that I'll be starting a new job in my company next week. I'll be working to develop the space surveillance operational architecture (OA) for all of DoD. It turns out my company is at the forefront of doing OA work for the military. It's been a while since I've worked on military space systems. The cool thing about the job is that we will be developing the architecture without being constrained by existing systems. We'll be helping define the capabilities needed to meet the different service branch's space surveillance needs including new systems. Fun stuff!
It'll be interesting to see if any of them are requiring the ability to monitor NEOs. If not, perhaps I can help nudge them to include that as part of their mission.
