Your post is essentially a discussion on the merits of a single payer system, which of course has its pros and cons.
Let me try one more time to focus the discussion on my point: If we had a single payer system there would be no need for people to buy private insurance.
You now pay $1000/mon for insurance. If we had single payer you would NOT pay one penny of that. You would pay higher taxes but it would total far less than the $1000/mon you pay. You would not pay both. That is the point I have tried unsuccessfully to get across to you.
Now, just consider for a moment that what I say here is true. Does that make a single payer system sound better to you?
