Why do I need to know.
The need is two fold; first. I want to satisfy my curiosity; second, if I find the ‘truth’ about the subject matter then I will not be spreading rumors but only explaining the truth.
I found this site <a/> from the link you pointed to. Your comment and this site confirm my suspicion that there is a ‘leak’ in the Earth’s atmosphere. Now that I have that ‘fact’ I can pose a question in the form of a conjecture.
What IF the combined power from Sun’s CME’s and the hundreds of tons of radioactive waste in the atmospheric environment IS enough to dissociate water molecules and ‘expel’ the products into space. IF such an ‘event’ was occurring at a very high rate, then I would expect the water levels in the lakes and oceans to decrease in quantity. If the water level in the oceans has decreased substantially, then the ice shelf in the Antarctic may have been left ‘hanging in the air’ so to speak, and broke off under its own weight. It is ‘conjecture’ at this point in time, but with the help of measurements and numbers it may be possible to say for certain that it can or cannot happen. Thank you Adam; your input is greatly appreciated. Hmm…. 200 gigawatts of power I wonder if it could be converted into something useful.
