Hi Raoul
I found that interesting.
The part about measuring the light pulses in fractions of a millisecond made me wonder something.
My very limited understanding of a nuclear bomb tells me that the fissionable material is set into chain reaction by shape charge conventional explosives. I was wondering what the time lag is between the first conventional explosion and the nuclear blast.
Also is it a shock/pressure wave that starts the chain reaction or a combination of wave and temperature?
QUESTION: Are my comments considered on-topic or not. They hardly seem worthy of a new post but I am aware that it is desirable to steer wandering posts back to the original or at least to a relevant sub-post of the original hence the mobius digression award.
What's a person to do if a post provokes a thought that is only remotely related to the original post? Or am I taking this BBS to seriously again.
Rob
