Considering that a slam-dunk Nobel probably rides on being the first to find definitive evidence of present or former life on Mars, you sorta can't blame the folks who hammer, squash, and mash the qualities of these meteorites into the "life" box. Some of this stuff looks like a real "stretch".
And, sometimes I wish the Nobel committee would announce that no one who writes something about a meteorite which is then used to say "suggestive of life on Mars" or "consistent with life on Mars", but turns out not to be, will ever get the Prize.
Disqualified, even if they subsequently invent time and faster-than-light travel (my research shows these to be closely related, and solvable, if only I can somehow go back and get rid of Einstein), discover all "dark" matter, and figure out a perpetual motion machine which also generates excess power.

Big argument.
