When my brother was at Raytheon they had to waste a lot of time taking classes just so they would know what to say in case they were audited for the ISO 9000 thing. I worked at Hughes at that time, in the same level as he, and we never had to do anything to prepare. It seems it was all left to upper management to know what was needed. We were never audited as far as I knew. At least it never got down to my level. Apparently everything went well since we got the certification. I don’t know why there was such a difference with the 2 companies.
