I wonder what the trade-offs were.

I wonder what the trade-offs were.

Though it seems to me that if you had all the fans, chillers, heat exchangers, piping, pumps and filters it takes to keep your average office functioning it would be noisier than the dickens, too, if those were near the office.

In the midst of controlling the environment, they must have just left off the noise. Heat, cold, oxygen, CO2, humidity, particulates, light, and so on were clearly factored in.

However, noise must not have been a priority. I'm sure everyone figured out how much water each person would add to the systems, how much power everything draws, how much heat, and so on.

I wonder if there were any thoughts about noise at all. Or, if anyone did, if they weren't dismissed as being such a low priority because of other, ostensibly more important, considerations.

Odd, now that you think about it. And I'm not sure I would have thought about it. Probably not.
