Don't laugh, Phil, but when I first heard about all the noise in the ISS, I thought about them installing some lightly padded organizers made of cloth with the only metal parts being snaps attached to flaps (see through vinyl?!) to keep things from flying around. Something similar to this (lol):

It would reduce some of the noise.

They must feel as if they're in the middle of an earthquake 24/7.
