But would it still be us?

A copy does not make an original. Today I have far more experiences than I did 10 years ago, but my core being, my "self" is still the same. But what is "self"? No one knows, and how are we suppose to capture and transfer that unknown quantity into a machine?

If we could create an exact replica of someone down to the last atom, what would it be like for that individual? Would it simply be two different people, or two bodies but one mind, and if so how would that person feel? An extreme sense of vertigo perhaps? One mind seeing from two sets of eyes, hearing from two sets of ears? I guess this is where science leaves off and philosophy picks up. If only it were as simple as us being the sum of our memories, but I'm not so sure.
