Re: Subharmonics in Star Wobble
This sci-fi fantasy idea just popped into my head....
If planetary alignments amplify the wobble of a star, more subtle star wobble effects might also be amplified during this time. For example, if a smaller mass were orbiting the star at a high rate, the wobble caused by its movement might be amplified to detectable levels. These subharmonics encoded *within* the wobble of a star might serve as a robust interstellar communications system, visible from nearly any direction, essentially an omnidirectional beacon.
Of course its just a fantastic idea.
