Mom and dad let me stay up that whole night, and we rode over to the uncles to see the whole thing of the lunar landing/moonwalk in COLOR (dad tooo cheep to buy one) and watch Uncle Walter on CBS along with Wally Schrirra do color commentary on CBS, besides, Gruman used to suit up two astros by a LM mockup and simulate what they were doing real time on the MOON and the networks ran that in the early moon missions. And for a point of interest, I took the old 8 mm camera (FILM!!) and ran a few rolls off of the TV screen when they walked on the moon, to be sure I had a copy of it, DUHHHHHHH, 10 years later I had video of it, 30 yrs later I could call up any mission and get pics or vid off the 'net! How times change.
