Before total recall - Brainstorm 1983
This movie went a few steps further. In addition to stimulating (simulating) visual input, the researchers also controlled heart rate, breathing, inner ear inputs, audio etc. etc. to give the "user" a complete sensory experience. The experiences were recorded previously from other subjects "adventures".
Old, but probably still a good flick.
