Re: the real story
<Go back in time to the 1960s. Were the elderly dying in the streets in masses because of no medicade, no prescription drug benefits? Were schools disfunctional in edcuating kids with no multi-billion dollar NEA? Actually college board scores were higher.
Good observations. Add to this that the Federal Budget in 1965, in constant 1996 dollars, was about one-third what it is today.
ONE-THIRD.
That this does not even seem to faze anyone I tell it to says something disturbing about the modern American and his view of government. I know it really pisses me off, especially when some liberal jackass tells me that we can't cut spending, and that taxes are too low.
