That would be a good idea, but
they can't even seem to design a simple lifeboat right. How bad would they screw up an interplanetary spaceship? And how in God's name does one spend several hundred million dollars on a truss? They probably even put some of those spare $1000 toilet seats from the pentagon on the station too. On second thought, a $1000 toilet seat would be a massive improvement for Nasa. This agency seems to be on its death bed. Maybe the prediction of Mars in a 1000 years wasn't too far of the mark.
