Sun goes Nova? Probably not, but what if a white dwarf hit it?
When I read this month’sScientific America article call when stars collide, I was reminded of Niven’s Inconsistent Moon. The article has a painting of a white dwarf tearing through our Sun. It wasn’t a Nova, like in Niven’s story, but it would have the same effect to the Earth- and to us.
The Laws of Physics seems to save us from our Sun going Nova, and statistics will probably save us from somthing like a white dwarf or black hole from hitting our Sun
