Re: Ameoba-like thinking

Mark says: Your post is silly BD. Neither comment remotely applies to me.

BD: ter reading your rediculous post? Sure they do. You do believe the Artic Research Station is doing real Mars research right? How so?

The second does not apply to the Mars Society in general. The first is also grossly misleading as anyone who has bothered to investigate knows. The MS owns no plywood forts.

What is the er... ahhh.. "Mars Station" made of? Plywood isn't it? Cost society members couple million right? Didn't it get air dropped and smashed? Was it insured? How much does plywood go for these days? I also heard the brave "Mars Astronauts" did not stay at their Research Station during the cold Earth winter. Very realistic huh?

Mark: Off course this fits with your over all record of veracity. Keep it up. I always enjoy your free dispersals of evidence of your dishonesty and/or ignorance.

BD: Dishonesty? Name one thing I have ever been dishonest about? You on the otherhand have been selling people on dumb ideas about colonies living on Mars. How many members do you have now? - 500 or 600 and dwindling? Obviously the theatrical tactics to play "Man On Mars Scene One" has already been made in several B movies about the subject. I suggest you watch "Mission To Mars" for entertainment.

Mark: Have you figured out what's wrong with your panspermia two step yet?

BD: Nothing. It's you who state over and over again that Earth is being bombarded by microbes from Mars and therefore we must all be immune to them. Show me the evidence for your Martian microbe infestation?

Mark: Have you received your first paycheck as a Cardiff University Research Associate yet?

BD. No. Like ICAMSR the associates are volunteers who are concerned about the phenomenon of life in the universe. The other associates including Gil Levin, Serge Pershin and Mike Russell are not paid either. What of it? We don't hold conventions like your team does to sell books about colonies on Mars. Besides, I believe Edgar Rice Burroughs already wrote about that a 100 years ago.

Mark: Have you actually visited the center yet?

BD: I have been invited many times. I routinely talk with Dr. Wickramasignhe.

Mark: Will you ever discuss how you "earned" that title?

BD: I was appointed by Chandra Wickramasignhe and was ratified by Cardiff U in 2000. Now, just what is you rank in the Mars Society? Are you a Captain, Admiral or just a ordinary spaceman?

Happy holidays to you and yours
