Re: Is the baby really a clone, or just a test tube baby?

That’s my point too. There is no need to clone just to produce another person. The real use of cloning is to produce spare parts, hearts, lungs, kidneys, nerves, etc. It would be great to take stem cells from someone with a bad heart and produce a new one to replace his bad one. It would end the need for waiting list for a transplant. If it comes from a cloning process from the patients own cells there will be no rejection, and no need to take all the drugs to stave off rejection. These drugs have there own side effects, and require other drugs to counter that, and on and on till the poor recipient is paying hundreds of dollars to keep away rejection. In the end the organ is often rejected anyway, or the patient dies from a side effect of one of the drugs.
