Say no to drugs...Please!

Did anyone see the interview with Claude Vorilhon last night on Dateline? (Claude Vorilhon, a.k.a. 'Rael,' is the spiritual leader of the Raelians and founder of Clonaid, the company that on Friday claimed it had successfully cloned the first human.)

This guy is either a con artist, or someone who used way to much LSD in the 1970’s. And there are people who want to legalize drugs. The real scary thing is that he has followers.

He claims that back in the 1970’s, when he was a hippy want-a-be, some an alien that looks like a baby with a goatee, invited him on the alien’s UFO. He said the alien came from another galaxy in a ship that was about 15 foot in diameter. He then claims the alien took him to the alien’s homeworld, in this other galaxy. There he saw all of the famous human spiritual leaders. He was told that cloning would make him immortal First, he would make a clone of himself. This clone would mature into an adult in a day or so and then he could transfer his ‘mind’ into this clone of himself. He said the alien also claimed that humans were clones they left on the Earth.

The alien also wants him to build a spaceport. The aliens said this spaceport must be in a warm climate, must have seven rooms. Each room must have a bathroom and a private pool.

I have many problems with Mr. Vorilhon’s story. First of all, I don’t by that a spaceship smaller than a motor home can travel here from another galaxy and be able to support a small person. It could not carry enough fuel or supplies to make such a journey. I suspect Mr. Vorilhon said another galaxy because he is one of the Astronomy illiterate that doesn’t realize how large and vast our galaxy is, and how far away other galaxies are.

With his cloning, first of all, a human clone will not come out as an adult. It will have to mature like any other human. Then he wants to transfer his conscious over to it? It would have been more plausible to say he would have his brain transplanted over to it.

And I love the space port (tropical resort). The aliens have to have their own private pool. The sad thing is, this nutcase is coning people out of money to build his ‘space port’.

In his LSD state Mr. Vorilhon’s probably really believe his story. But here is how other saw it. His abduction into a UFO was probably a ride in a police car His meeting in the space ship was probably an interrogation by a cop in a cell. After the cops dropped him off, he came out of his drug induced fantasy world.

Moral of the story, don't use drugs. However, the nut is getting rich. Figures.
