What about fuel? You have to have some kind of fuel to generate energy. Even if you can convert matter with 100% efficiency to energy, you still fuel. It takes a lot of energy to travel between galaxies.
Then there is life support for out alien baby with a goatee. Perhaps it is really a cyborg or something. Or maybe it was a halo-projection. Still, that is more energy. Don’t forget all the razors to shave to keep that goatee looking sharp.
Regardless of what ‘magical’ powers an alien race possesses, it will still have to follow the laws of physics.
