Pondering Folding Space

I have been reading the latest Dune series of books. It occurred to me that if Folding Space was possible, there is a problem that would have to be addressed. Forward momentum.

If I could fold space from Earth to a planet around Sirius, for example, you would have the combine direction and speed of these vectors; Sun’s orbit around the Milky Way, Earth’s Orbit around Sun and spacecraft’s motion around the Earth. (If you folded space to another galaxy, you would have to throw in our galaxies vector as well.) When you instantly arrived at Sirius you would be moving in the combination of direction and speed of these 3 vectors. I doubt this would match the Sirius system.

By eliminating some of the vectors, say putting the ship in orbit around the Sun, they might be about to better match the destination’s motion through space.
