The computing would be challenging
And the data gathering would be formidable.
It would be totally cool though.
The permutations and strategies would be endless.
But you are assuming that momentum would be conserved in the process, which may or may not be the case.
Since it is a plot contrivance these days (sadly) a good writer could make a great case for either way.
