Well, geologists admit it was raining meteorites for hundreds of millions of years, in the early age of the Earth; I mean, raining so much there was no night, as the atmosphere was lighted up by the incandescent showers.
But Jupiter couldn't prevent this and it might have helped bring water and life.
Jupiter brought both good and bad things to Earth.
