Right, pointing out that Nick was talking about Venus and it's gravity is nearly the same as our own would be a clearer way of pointing out EP's error. If anything Venus' day/night cycle is a bigger issue than it's gravity. If gravity turns out to be an issue at all!
This is the thing that ticks me off with EP the most! He just up and decides whose answer is right about a question. I. E., Nick is right about CO2 on Mars. All of these answers only serve his agenda not science. BTW, no one seems to have noticed his change of location for his observation platform. It now seems okay for comet/asteroid hunters to us a Space based system and not a Moon based system.

If he thought using the two terms interchangeably was okay, then it is only further proof of his complete lack of understanding of the issues at hand!
Also any sensible system to discover and understand the dangers of minor bodies is going to include detection and removal of the danger at the same time! There is no point in knowing that in a couple years an comet will hit Earth unless we also have a shot at moving it.
