Why wasn't Columbia being flown at Station inclination?
That way at least they would have had Abort to Station as an option.
But a better question is why Columbia was not docked to the Station itself, and the answer to that is going to be right interesting...
As for tile repair and consumables delivery via Progress, before NASA ever does something like this again they better have some hard numbers on that.
