Abort to station is just not a viable option no mater how you look at it. It takes almost all of the fuel just to get to orbit. There NEVER, I REPEAT NEVER is enough fuel left to do any great out of plane, or altitude change in order to get to the ISS. The only option is if it was headed for the ISS in the first place. Then you would dock and decide what to do about rescue. If the flight is in any other orbit it is an IMPOSIBILITY!
