Scott's notorious in at least 43 states for making his point in seemingly outrageous ways.
It's not just newbies who fall prey...he routinely twists Lindy into a pretzel over on Current Events. She can't see beyond the surface and so is unable to parse the meaning and spirit from his posts.
Don't tell anyone, but I think the Evil One is actually a very decent guy.
