Re: Russian Article Russian Article On Mars & Mars Society

"I'm sorry to hear people used your images without your consent. How did they get these images?"

KC ------ they pulled them off a website - one with explicit copyright notices. Moroever they were told on Devon Island that they had to ask for images before they could use them. They did not ask. Nor did they have the common/legal courtesy to say where they got the images - any of them.

"I don't know how you decide the images have "zero" relationship with TMS as you haven't read the article. Have you? Several people working at Hamilton Sundstrand and on the Mars Plane Project are members of TMS as I understand it. So it could be in that sense the images relate. But, many of the images in the article do not have a one to one relationship to TMS' activities."

KC ------- I was there on the island when the journalists were there and spoke with them. You were not. The small white/blue airplane was flown by a team of 4 individuals under a HMP/NASA joint endeavour. No Mars Society participation whatsoever. None of the team were Mars Society members, of that I am certain. The spacesuit image was taken by me. No one in the picture - or taking the picture - was a Mars Society member. The research being conducted with that suit had zero Mars Society involvement - in any form. As for the text of the article, someone (a native russian speaker) who had read it, read the significant portions of it to me. The authors are rather confused as to who is doing what - and why.
