Coherence?

Hi R.L.
Just a couple of questions.

Is there any measurable difference between the diameter of the beam as it leaves the laser and the actual diameter of the guide star?

What I'm wondering is, is the beam totally coherent or at some point, does the diameter noticeably increase?
