There's a better way, J. Dunno what it could ever be, but there is a better way. The trouble, I think, is that we have 2 ruling classes in the neighborhood, both of whom have been through a lot and neither of whom would appreciate the loss of land.

What if we move both sides to Texas? I mean, Texas is mostly a wasteland anyway, and the two sides will probably never meet. Texas is, after all, much larger than any Holy Land...
