The Roman Emperor Hadrian after the Bar Kochba revolt razed Jerusalem to the ground and then built a Roman colony named "Aelia Capitolina" on top of the vacant site (Modern Jerusalem is built on the foundations of this ancient Roman city). Hadrian also commanded his legions to slaughter most of the inhabitants of Judea (Hilter's SS were following an ancient tradition). This totally unethical solution ended a long and thorny problem for the ancient Romans. The Dome of the Rock (Islam's third most holiest site) is built upon the ruins of a medieval Christian church which in turn was built upon the ruins of the propylon for one of Hadrian's temples.
If I was emperor of the world my approach to Jerusalem would borrow from history. I would first build a chain link fence around the entire city of Jerusalem. I would then eject the entire population alive and unharmed from the city. I would then flatten every building to rubble. Next I would sink a shaft similar to one used for an underground nuclear weapon test in the middle of the temple mount and place a large thermonuclear explosive in the bottom of the shaft. I'd pop that sucker off and turn the whole place into a collapse crater like the Sedan Crater in Nevada. I'd then invite all the major chemical and nuclear manufacturing corporations of the world to dump their toxic waste in the crater, free of charge. The various religions of the world would then be permitted to fight each other for the crater if they still wanted it.
