<I can't believe how obtuse you're being. Let me try and spell it out:
I can't beleive how obtuse YOU are being! I've already responded to everything you brought up here.
The kind of motivated voter you want will fill his/her life up with nontrivial things. How much sacrifice can you demand for the right to vote?
like I said a vote every one - two week that can be filled out either by stoping by the poles at any time during the day (possibly hold the election over a two day period) or by filling out something and sending it in the mail.
There's more wrong with this. Step back and look at the big picture. To achieve the goal of filtering out casual voters, you're dumping a load of sand in the gears of the machinery that elects the leaders of our government. Isn't that a case of throwing the baby out with the bathwater? And consider, if a long-term stalemate develops, it will be because there are burning issues that people are not backing down from. The system has a contrary response to the importance of an election: Just when we most need to be decisive, the system grinds to a halt.
that could be said about the checks and balances systems, its actlually good. besides I said earlier staemates coudl be handled either two ways by stopping ans just taking the 50%+ majority (as there would only be two of them left anyway) or by granting the current leader another term.(I would prefer option A).
please explain how this is throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
