Government takes gun out of Microsoft's mouth
The Department of Justice has apparently abandoned its efforts to destroy Microsoft.
The current tech stock slump has been tied by a number of sources to the DOJ attack on Microsoft over the past couple of years. Others have said that this is just a coincidence, and that the overinflated tech stocks were to blame.
Be that as it may--there is support for both cases. But now that Microsoft is not under the government axe--at least for now--let's watch and see what the tech stocks do now. If the market starts to climb steadily again, it will tend to reinforce the theory that much of our slump is due to clumsy government meddling in the marketplace.
