Microsoft almost missed the boat

It's worth remembering how close Mighty Microsoft came to totally missing the Internet craze. Bill Gates did not see that one coming at all. If Microsoft had been a little slower, and Netscape a little cleverer, Netscape would have handed Microsoft its ass on a plate. But, Netscape hasn't been all that clever. Even now, their software is behind the curve, refusing to include important features that force me to use Explorer to read sites like this and several others. I actually prefer to use Netscape 4.7 for most browsing and my e-mail, but they're going to have to get on the stick.

Yeah, Explorer got automatically installed with Win2000. So? It took me five minutes to sort the system out to put Netscape back on top.
